Battery Care Guide: Maximize the LUMEBOX Lifespan

Cordless & Rechargeable Red Light Therapy

At LUMEBOX, we pride ourselves on providing a premium red light therapy experience, not just another off-the-shelf product. Our device is custom-made to deliver high-power, health-supporting benefits to your body’s cells. That’s why taking care of your battery is crucial for long-lasting use.

And this time, we’re not talking about your inner battery (your mitochondria), but your LUMEBOX battery. Just as your body benefits from red light therapy to thrive, your LUMEBOX requires some TLC to keep working optimally for a long, healthy lifespan!

How to Maintain Your LUMEBOX Battery

Our LUMEBOX portable red light therapy device was designed to accompany you for the long haul, not just a quick fix.

Here are our 3 essential tips for maintaining its battery:

1. Use the Right Charger

Always use the dedicated LUMEBOX charger that comes with your device. Using a non-LUMEBOX charger could compromise the battery’s performance and longevity—much like putting the wrong fuel in your car!

2. Protect Your LUMEBOX from Heat

This one’s for all you sauna lovers… unfortunately, the LUMEBOX battery doesn’t love extreme temperatures. Using it in very hot environments may shorten its battery life.

To ensure the best performance and longevity of your LUMEBOX:

  • Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures below 0°C (32°F) and above 35º C (95º F).
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight for extended periods and never leave it in a hot car.
  • For long-term storage up to 1 year, ensure the temperature stays between 0°C (32°F) and 20°C (68°F).

3. Store It Properly

LUMEBOX is equipped with a 37.96 Wh (10400mAh) lithium-ion battery, which naturally self-discharges if left unused for an extended period. To keep your battery in top shape, especially if you’re planning to leave your LUMEBOX behind for more than a week (we’ll miss you 😢), follow these essential storage tips:

  • Charge Before Storing: Charge the battery for at least 1.5 hours or until the indicator shows three blue lights. It’s perfectly fine to store the device fully charged (four dots).
  • Periodic Charging: Every two months, give your LUMEBOX battery a boost by charging it for at least an hour or until the indicator lights up with three blue lights. This helps maintain battery health.
  • Proper Storage: Store your LUMEBOX in a cool, dry environment to avoid moisture and overheating.

TL;DR:
Use your LUMEBOX regularly! To prevent a drop in capacity and battery life, we recommend using it at least once a week. Don’t know where to start? Watch this video.
